Steel Alloys Titanium Grade 12 is an advanced titanium alloy, enhanced with 0.3% molybdenum (Mo) and 0.8% nickel (Ni). This alloy offers superior corrosion resistance in both reducing and oxidizing environments, making it ideal for chemical and marine applications. It excels in high-temperature applications, such as shell and tube heat exchangers, and is known for its excellent weldability and resistance to crevice corrosion.

Grade 12 titanium features a near-alpha microstructure with acicular alpha and small amounts of beta phase. Its Beta Transus temperature is approximately 1634°F, contributing to its strength and formability. Commonly used in chemical manufacturing, marine, and aerospace industries, this alloy performs well in mildly reducing or variable oxidizing-reducing media. Heat treatment of this alloy enhances its corrosion resistance, offering a cost-effective alternative to palladium. For machining, tungsten carbide or cobalt high-speed tools are recommended.
